As president of CADE, participated in several WTO meetings in Geneva as a member of the Brazilian delegation in the Trade and Competition Policy Group

Expert witness to CADE to electricity, telecommunications, sanitation and natural gas regulators, among others.

In the water & sanitation sector, was CEO of Sabesp, the largest water company of Brazil and the fourth largest in the world.

Arbitrator in private disputes and testimony on competition issues to the New York Bankruptcy Court.

Represented Brazil in the antitrust group of the World Trade Organization - WTO (1996-1998).

Consultant in antitrust for various multilateral institutions.

Took part in several evaluations of economic aspects of the antitrust systems of Egypt, India, Costa Rica, Panama and Argentina.

Professor of the Department of Economics of the Getúlio Vargas Foundation, São Paulo.

Visiting Professor of Columbia University where he taught a course on Brazilian antitrust and regulation in the spring of 2006.

Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California/Berkeley, master in Economics from the University of Campinas, Brazil and bachelor in Economics from the University of São Paulo, Brazil.

Received the Prize of the Economist of the Year by the Economists´ Brazilian Association in 2016.
